I have no reverse lights on mine as well. I did have the battery disconnected for a few days one day. I did not jumper the the batt leads though.
Using the jumper speeds up the process. Leaving the battery disconnected for ???? how long will allow the electronics to use up and drain any stored energy. A few days is most likely enough.Time to look elsewhere.
