I had the 315/70/17 on Raptor wheels, and with a sidewall that big, they rode very nicely, although going into corners with that big sidewall, they felt somewhat mushy, with 44 psi in them, but I got used to them.
I've had Michelins in the past, LTX, IIRC, and they performed just as well as the BFG's, maybe a little better.
So you'd recommend the BFGs even though your Michelin LTX's performed better? Do you remember if it was the LTX A/T 2's or the LTX Defenders? Totally different tires.

The Michelins were A/T2's thinking back. The difference between the two wasn't much. Even though I've had the BFG's a couple times, I've really never been happy with them. They do have a beefier look than the Michelins, and wore about the same. What you describe as use, either would be good. The Michelins seemed to perform better in my world, but I'm in the snow belt, so my needs are a bit different. For me, the best A/T tire is the DuraTrac, but likely for you, that would be overkill.

Basically for you, either would be a good choice, and if I were using them like yourself, price and appearance would be my deciding factor.

The LTX A/T 2 is a great tire. Another great A/T P rated tire that hasn't been mentioned is the Nitto Terra Grappler G2. A bit more aggressive look, better in the snow and cheaper than the K02.

The LTX A/T 2 is a LT tire it looks like. Which I'm fine w/ assuming it doesn't ride like crap.

I find it interesting that according to TireRack the Defender LTX is superior to the LTX A/T 2 in all categories. Even off road?

The LTX A/T 2 has around 17 million more miles reported. I wonder if the Defenders would even out after awhile.

Don't forget that BF Goodrich is a Michelin company.

I've had KO's and KO2's not because I've needed the rating, but for the sidewall protection and traction advantages. Seems that wouldn't be necessary in your application. I vote for ride comfort and MPG's in your case.
