if you want the LED look get the zero bulbs. They don't wash out the back up camera. What you ordered is a much brighter light shining right into the camera.

If you’re already pulled over, this is true. There are other scenarios where it matters. The human eye is naturally drawn to the brightest light source at night. If you’re in a group of cars and you drive past a stopped patrol vehicle, there’s a good chance that these LEDs will make you the most noticeable vehicle. By extension, that makes you most likely to receive the ticket.

Furthermore, if you’re driving through an area with nosy people, the bright plate is easier for them to read and report if they dislike something you’ve done. While the obvious response may be “well don’t do that”, the point remains that bright plate lights are an optional way to attract unwanted attention. The factory lights meet the legal requirement for identification. I wouldn’t spend more money to make myself more identifiable. On a personal level, it’s in your best interests to be a ghost.
