I just bought a 2016 F150 SuperCrew, Denim Jeans Blue, 3.5 Ecoboost, XLT, with Max Trailer package and 3.55 rear gearing. I'll be towing my 1950 vintage 19ft Vagabond, with bent birchwood interior, at about 8000 lbs. I figure I'll have plenty of cushion to loaf along with the higher GVWR rating. I can't wait to check out the diagnostic/test features of the trailer lights and brakes, thru the 7 pin connector, and more.
Someone, tell me when I might want to use the Locking Rear Axle feature?
Thanks, Walter in the Sierras, somewhere between Sacramento and Reno.

Sound like a great ride! Enjoy, I love my 3.5 eco.
The locker is very nice when you have one tire on a slippery surface and the other on a grippy surface. For instance if I am backing my camper in I often get one tire on the grass and one on the pavement, at that point I can't back-up any more the one in the grass keeps slipping. Click in the locker and you are good to go. So anytime you need some extra traction at low speeds it it very helpful.
Enjoy!
