Try a test drive like you stole it with a 2.7 in sport mode if that does not make you smile then ??? Went from (4) 5.3 GM engines from 07 Tahoe LTZ to 13 GMC SLT you will not go back!!! Just finished our summer salmon fishing season (2 months) 245 miles one way 55-75mph back and forth and around town driving for 2300+ miles average of 22.8mpg. Towing a Lund Barron loaded with equipment to harbor 15.6mpg return home 15.8 mpg. Average since last oil change incudes all driving towing ect 4300 miles 21.9mpg (all mpg number are by total purchased gallons divided into mileage for this oil change) Tire pressure 38 cold all corners and the tires warm up to 43PSI rear 42PSI front when towing at 88 degrees this weekend and the air conditioner was on when towing. All towing done with 5-6 gears locked out and let the turbo do it's job no lugging / no lag in fourth.
PS. Any choice of engines will be better than that 5.3 your are driving now.
2016 lariat crew, 2.7, 3.55 e-locker, trailer tow, brake controller,

Don't those tire pressures give you a rough ride?

Where in Ohio are you? Cleveland area here. My F150 is my first truck and I like it. I have the 2.7L Ecoboost and it is as strong as everyone is telling you. I've never towed more than a couple thousand pounds but I would feel confident doing so. Good luck to you.

I have the 2.7, if I could do it again I would get the 3.5 but then again I have different needs than you. I have a XLT with nav but again I think I would go Lariat if I were to do it again because I miss the leather, cooled seats, etc from my 13 FX2. XLT's don't get 4A feature which is a big deal to me in the end as I hate 4hi's limited usefulness for daily driving. LED's are nice but there are decent aftermarket choices out there or even just better bulbs. The one comfort I think I wish I had was the front camera. It's not easy to tell where the bumper ends in these biggins'
