Default New MBRP exhaust

Well i finally pulled the trigger after 6 weeks of quiet i found a gently used MBRP s5260al. Sounds really good at low rpms , insert general bawk about it bei g a six here. So we will see how it goes. Over all i am very pleased with fit, finish and quality of the mbrp stuff.

also the amount of weight i just pulled out can hurt either.

I know the tips are a little low but it was just me in the garage so i couldn't see and tighten bolts. I will get that fixed up during the week.

also i do have a couple of sound bites ill post up later

to be honest I don't think it's going to work for my family. the drone is very noticeable. I had a magnaflow on my old hemi but this thing is loud trying to upload the sound bites now

I wish I liked it more but oh well

It's for sale I'm thinking 300 OBO plus shipping. I will probably try to get one that dumps behind the wheel on the next one.

If your in the DFW area we could meet up-Also open to trades for other stuff for the truck

Admin i tried to post in the sell/trade area but I did not have access.

Yea, it's loud. I added a 20" resonator to tone it down a bit and all is good no more drone. Good luck with the sale.

I was just going to suggest to OP, get the biggest resonator you can fit and have it welded in (magnaflow and vibrant make some really nice resonators)

I guess i'll need to do some research on the resonators I really don't understand how they work besides making things quieter. I wonder if performance would be affected. I am glad to know the drone would be gone.

chimmike
thanks for the brand recommendations.

Amazon Amazon

This is the one I used and it fit perfectly, there is a longer one but I don't think it would fit without modifying other items. I just modified the intermediate pipe and used clamps for the install, welding would be the best way for sure...but I got no machine at my place so clamps it was.

I'll be honest it doesn't quiet it down at low rpms or really jumping on it, but took away any highway drone I had.

Damn, just noticed the price went up on that little guy. I think I got it for around $72 or so. Also, just a note I swapped the position of the tabs on the pipes opposite of the MBRP directions so the tips sit flatter.

this one will be a lot more effective than that mbrp one:
http://vibrantperformance.com/catalo...products_id=47

or these:
http://www.magnaflow.com/automotive-...ound/products/

the bigger you can fit, the better.
