Default New F-150 Issues

Hey everyone, I just picked up my 2018 5.0 xlt sport from Hassett Ford in Wantagh NY

When I got home, I noticed a slight musty smell coming from under the rear seats when I was taking the carpeted mats out from under the all weather mats the dealer put in. I found that close to the back wall under the rear window on the driver side rear seat, the carpets were wet. I pulled the carpet up a bit at the door sill and stuck my hand under the carpet and it was completely damp and smelled of mold. I called the dealership at 3:55pm and was told the service center was closed til Monday, it turns out they were open til 6 and are open all day tomorrow. I hope there not giving me the run around.

I'm 99% sure the leak is coming from the rear vent, I poured water all over the truck and roof to try to isolate the leak and it seemed this was the only place water was coming in. I have the pano sunroof and water comes in at the mid seam where the front glass meets the rear, but all the water drains out.

I also noticed the transmission whine when the gears are shifting, it almost sounds like a dentist's drill. I hope its nothing serious but I've read up that a lot of other members with the 10 speed are having the same noise.

Other than the moly wet carpet and the transmission whine, I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!

I think a lot of people with the sunroofs are having that problem..Check the drains.. They should replace the carpet in your truck cuz you'll never get that smell out. I think some guys were successful at getting it replaced under warranty.

Isn't the whining transmission common? As for the wet carpets, can't they just replace them?
I did a trade in toward the truck and it was the last 2018 on the lot, the other 2 they have are 2019s and they're not giving the same incentives at the dealership

The smell is so bad from underneath the carpet. Theres no way I'd live with this, they have to replace the carpet. The drains seemed fine, it was that vent that seems to be leaking

I thought I read somewhere about a recall on the carpet issue in these trucks?

I hope that the issues you are having are corrected without any hassle. My 2018 with the 10 speed makes a little bit of a whine in reverse, but only when cold and has been parked overnight.. Never a whine when in drive.

My 10 spd works fine but sounds like a diesel sometimes lol. Always whines and whistles. Works great but the noises take some getting used to. I am not the expert but again, I have the same noises. Have about 2500 miles on my truck so far.

My transmission started rattling in 3rd gear right before it shifts into 4th, I now have 168 miles on the truck. I checked the oil levels this morning and it's low. What the ****

Did you wait 15-20 minutes to check the oil after it was running? Ford doesn't fill them to the max line at the factory. They fill it to the middle of the cross hatched area. Also the rattle may be from the engine not the transmission. Ford has a PCM update for the rattle which has some thing to do with the variable cam phasing.
