My configuration:
2019 F150 XL Supercab RWD (came with 6-speaker system, AM/FM, no sub or amp, no WPT1212 connector, etc.--just base stuff)
Sync 3 "Lite" with 4.2" screen upgraded to Sync 3 with 8" touchscreen and Navigation (Sync software v3.4.22110 and 2 21 Maps)
Upgraded ACM to one with SiriusXM and HD Radio
Added TCU and activated it
Upgraded my Instrument Cluster to the 8" Lariat and higher trim level cluster
Now wanting to upgrade the sound by adding the sub . . .
I have read through all of the Subwoofer threads, and have ordered a Rockford Fosgate P300-8P that will be here Sunday.
In the Factory Sub thread, someone posted a link to the instructions for the Ford Accessories Kicker Sub, PN VKL3Z-18808-A; this is the link they posted:
Within those instructions, they have you install three wires into the ACM connector (Connector C240B) at pins 4, 17 and 18 . . .
When I look at that connector in my AlldataDIY account, it shows that only pin 18 is used, and it's used for something else:
The instructions further outline that you go into IDS (Forscan) and enable the "7 Speakers and Subwoofer" option . . .
What I am curious about, is what is actually happening at pins 4 and 17, if they are "Not Used" . . . would these be the speaker low-level outputs? If so, I think I would rather run these wires back to the amp/sub than tap into the front door speaker wires . . .
Can anybody shed any light on these pins in the ACM connector?
BY THE WAY--the non-Ford Accessories (and discontinued) Kicker sub, PN SF150SC15 instructions are available to download from the Kicker site, and in those instruction, she have you tap into the speaker wires . . .
In the SF150SC15 installation, no requirements for IDS/Forscan are mentioned . . . if I am not able to figure out what those two pins in that connector do, I'll probably wire up the amp/sub this way . . .
Congrats on the audio upgrade! You may be taking the hard way to achieve what you’re trying to do. Have you visited the stereo/aftermarket audio section of the forum? Tons of truck specific audio knowledge there. They were a huge help to me when I wanted to upgrade my system. https://www.f150forum.com/f30/

Thanks for responding . . . however, Saturday I traded that truck in on a 2019 F150 XLT SuperCab that already has the Ford Accessories sub installed (Window Sticker shows "Dealer Installed"), so now I just need to determine whether I want to upgrade that with the Rockford Fosgate I ordered, or just keep the one that's in there . . .
Factory speakers are no match for aftermarket replacements- if you don’t mind spending the money, you’ll definitely appreciate the upgrade in sound quality. I swapped out all 4 door speakers for Morel Tempos, replaced the sub with a powered Rockford Fosgate, disconnected the center speaker, added a Kicker Key 200.4 amp/mini dsp, and added sound dampening to rear cab wall and doors. Night and day difference

Good day
I have done the exact setup as you. I am installing a RF P300-8 sub. Just wondering if you had any issues installing, and how did you place your settings on the sub?
