Default Need help on a rolling bed cover

I'm eventually going to be looking for a rolling cover for my '17 XLT SCREW. I'm leaning toward a manual Retrax but I'm not set on it (leaning toward the matte finish). Just looking to keep hunting/fishing gear and luggage dry and safe on trips. Any advice on which brands/models I should look at?

Lost have gone with the Bak Revolver x2. It is an aluminum body that rolls up, had a canvas cover, sides lock in place and only able to open by dropping the gate.

I love mine. Takes up no room in the bed and is fairly secure.

I have the gatortrax which I believe is the same as retrax brand on my 15 crew. It's been a great purchase for me and I too use it for hunting and boating stuff which is great because you can leave it there during season and not worry about therft or elements bothering it.
The top rolls and locks well... I am very please with my purchase.
Good luck!

Is the Bak Revolver easily removable? Like if I wanted to take the whole thing off/out?

Yes. It would require removing 4 bolts that are readily accessible. When you reinstalled it you'd have to align it again though. Probably less than 5 minutes to remove.

Love my Retrax Pro MX. Easy install. Also get a tailgate gasket and your bed will be bone dry

The revolver has 2 boots that sit in a slide at the cab end of the track. Unbolt each side and lift off the cover. As stated above, lay it back on and re-align... dosnt take much. Can be done with one person.

For the retrax:

Any functionality differences between the glossy and matte finishes? I like the look of the matte but would think the glossy might be easier to clean.

I know the PRO can hold more weight on top but is it worth the extra $$$? The quotes I have been given to purchase locally, the PRO is about $4-500 more.

I currently have the Bak Flip Fiber. It came on my truck. Not a huge fan of folding the heavy panels with bad shoulders.
I researched all of the rolling covers and ended up going with the Revolver X2. Got a good deal from Tonneau Factory Outlet. It should be here next week (Monday,) so I should have more details on how it functions then. I like that it doesn't take up any room in the bed when fully rolled up. Removal, if necessary but unlikely, would be the easiest out of all the rolling covers. I was dead set on a RollingLock or Retrax, but I am thinking this is going to be a great option. I will probably sell my Bak Flip fiber.
