In need of advice for this trucks future
Just purchased a 2016, XLT, 4wd, Coyote.
It was a company truck. Driven hard, but has always been maintained, sitting at 370xxx km's.
Body has a couple minor dings, and bush scratches in the paint. Interior is dirty, cloth stained. Coolant leak. Motor has been overheated, though it still starts/runs. Trans operates mint.
Now my dilemma. I picked it up for $3000 Cad on a whim. I'm having a hard time with my options.
-Spend some time making it sell worthy, and flip it. Not sure how much I could ask for it. I'm at a point were I don't need the money, but I could use the money.
-Keep it, use it for winter and truck stuff. I'm into it for so little, even having to replace a trans and/or motor in the near future, I would be pretty well off at that point. With a 2016, all the electronics are still mint. Aluminum body that doesn't rust.
-Throw a supercharger on it. Rip around and do some mad burnouts until it dies, then Part it out.
I'm loosing sleep over these choices 😭

It would help to know why you purchased it in the first place…impulse? Price? Is this a daily driver or just a toy? You probably know that deliberation of these options you stated should have probably taken place before the purchase.
I would advise not doing anything with a truck in that condition that involves large aftermarket purchases. You’ll never get that money back and it sounds like that motor is hurt anyway.

I've got a new bronco, and a car for daily/toy. Don't have any trucks though.
I understand I'll never get that money back, but those costs might only equal up too the taxes and depreciation of a new one.
Personally I'd keep it and just fix it up over time like people do when restoring other cars. If you don't have to drive it every day then it's no big deal to have it sit for a month while you rebuild the motor or fix up the interior or whatever it is you're working on over time. But I guess that depends on if you want that to be your hobby or not. Restoring cars is generally a bad way to make money but it sounds like it could be a fun project and you could end up with a really cool customized truck in the end.
