Mykey question
Hey guys, my first post here. I have a 2019 xlt. I bought it used, 11k miles and it only has one key fob. The fob does not have remote start. I can remote start from fordpass. Im not up to speed yet with all the options this truck has but anyway, i was playing around with the steering wheel controls and hit the "mykey" button, and now when i start my truck it says max speed 81 mph, and my radio will not work till i put my seatbelt on. Now i realize that i shouldnt drive that fast and i should be wearing my seatbelt. Which i do wear. But how can i delete this mykey? Ive looked and looked and i can not find anything to do this.
Thanks
Thanks
Only way to get rid of it is with the admin key. I eff'ed up and did the same thing but had two keys so was able to turn it back off with the other key. Didn't read the manual and thought it was a way to marry seat/mirror/radio settings to the key like in our BMW. Once you hit create, you're ****ed.
I don't know if a dealer can do it or not. When I messed mine up I was reading about people having to pay hundreds of dollars to purchase a new key but cannot confirm.
It's an extremely ****ty system.
Oh, and I bought my 2019 XLT used almost two months ago with 11k. Along with the MyKey thing maybe we should start a club.

Sorry, I don't have any more info because I didn't have to pursue further. All I know is that when you have two keys, one of them is the admin key and is needed to remove mykey. If you search the forum for "mykey admin key" there are several threads where you might be able to find more useful info.

Not sure if you have a crazy complicated situation going on, but the owners manual instructs how to create and program/change settings to MyKey. Even has a paragraph of clearing all MyKey's.
The manual for my 2016 (downloaded PDF version) has 5 pages of MyKey settings.
Check out the manual to see if it covers what you need to do.

He's only got one key, and he turned it into a MyKey.
It's about like having someone password protect your iPhone, they're the only one that knows the password, and then they die.
Can be corrected but not just by clicking your heels together.
With only one key you are going to have to go to the dealer regardless. If there was a way to disable MyKey then the kids would find a way to just defeat it. I thought that you needed two keys but maybe that is you can add another key but you have to have 2 keys and you can disable MyKey with just a single admin or not limited key.
For instance I bought my truck used. I also only got one key. I couldn't add a second key to it myself since I only had one. I had to go to the dealer and buy another key which was about $300 for it but it is the 5 button key since I have they keyless push to start. Now that I have two keys I can add a 3rd or more keys. My plan is to get another key here shortly as my daughter is about to get her permit. Not that she will be driving my truck very often, but if she does, she will have a limited key.
I guess on a more positive note. It isn't a bad idea to have a spare key anyhow... You are just forced into having to bite the bullet if you want to disable the limits that are now enabled. It should have been done where you need a second key to even enable MyKey. I don't know why they have it so you can accidentally do it with only one key.

Figured with such a new vehicle there would be 2 keys included.
