Killed the last bit of chrome on my F150 today. It drove me crazy that even on the sport (no chrome trim) package, there were 11 inch long F150 badges down the side with THREE mounting holes each. Blah. Hate!
Now don't get me wrong, I know some of you dudes dig chrome and I'm totally cool with that as long as it is a cohesive and consistent design. On a sport, it's supposed to be body color or black. Having chrome logos just stood out like a sore thumb.
I finally broke down and ordered some fresh badges on Tasca and had a local paint shop sand blast the logos, then spray them with black and apply a clear coat. Very happy with the way they turned out.
Even added some subdued flags for some extra bald-eagle power (not sure if I'll keep these on, but fun for a bit).
Just a thought for guys who don't want the red accent trim version - red would stand out like a sore thumb on my truck.
Yeah, that looks incredibly good. Apparently buying new badges and having them painted by a pro, is the 'right way' to do this. Bravo sir.
Oh and btw, I have a very similar flag sticker setup on my rig which I've had for a couple years now. Only the drivers side has the Air Force sticker, the passenger is the flag only.

Nice truck man.
Thanks for your service and compliments brother! I considered shooting it myself or plasti dipping, but I just imagined how pissed off I was going to be in a year and a half when one of the corners started wearing through or chipping or something. Decided to just save myself the frustration.
I did these myself. They are colour-matched to the truck’s tuxedo black.
I plan to do something similar when my new truck arrives. Either colour-match the Lead Foot, shadow black (may pebble it to look like the granulated surface on the nearby plastic parts).
