My 4" to 8" sync 3 swap on 2018

Well, I have great news!
For those who have been wondering, no, you do not need any external or adapter harness with this swap. This applies to 2018's only.
The physical swap was as easy as they show on the infotainment install vid. For me, I am going to a bezel that only has 2 top button cutouts, so the obvious choice was to banish the god forsaken Auto stop/start button.
This is the last I will see of you... good riddence! lol
With everything connected back up to the new 8" gear, it all fired up flawlessly.
Something I was wondering, is if the back up display integrates properly, and I'm happy to say that it does indeed!
I tested all buttons, and touchscreen options and everything works as intended. Nav functions perfectly with the factory antenna as well.
The only thing I need to change, is the Plow button no longer lights up. This is simply because the new bezel came from a truck without that option, and I will need to enable it in Forscan.
Anyone who was on the fence... go for it. It really is that easy for the 2018's. By far the hardest part is locating the screen, apim and bezel for a reasonable price.
Any questions, let me know.

I found mine at a wrecker yard. If you use www.car-part.com you can get a good idea of what salvage trucks are around you. They rarely have enough info posted for you to know for sure it is what you want, so you need to call the particular wrecking yard directly and HOPE they are kind enough to get pictures for you. Keep in mind most are a pain in the *** to deal with.

Did you notice that 4dtech and infotainment.net still charge the same price for the 18 and 19 kit than they do for the 15-17. The harness is $300 through 4dtech (I think u can only buy complete kits from infotainment) so if they are the same kit just with no harness and same price I would buy the older kit then sell the harness and make an easy $200-$250. U would figure the 18 and 19 would be cheaper. There prices are outrageous anyways. Also I've seen aftermarket install kits that only come with the the bezel and u have to move your ac controls and stereo controls over to it. Since this is possible why cant we just buy that plastic part from ford for the 8" radio and swap our stuff onto it. It should be alot cheaper than the entire bezel with controls.

Everyone is trying to make a buck for sure. Its like anything, some research and some effort and you can do it for a fraction of the cost. Some folks like the idea of a drop in solution, regardless of cost, so these after market options are good for them.
I'm cheap though
