MUST READ: Problem with a lot of 2015 and up F150's that Ford wont tell you
I found a major problem on my truck and took it to a dealership. They thought it was just mine, and gave me a loaner while they tried fix it. It is with the remote start/heated seats.
Go to:
Advance settings
Remote start
Switch climate to last setting (Heat has to be on)
Turn off seats and steering wheel (if so equipped)
Once you do this, shut your truck off.
Then remote start it, and check your passenger seat and steering wheel. If it's on, take it to the dealership ASAP. Mine did this and so did two others that I checked. There is a glitch in the programming and Ford isn't telling anyone about it. But Just the passenger seat gets REAL HOT, and could cause a fire if not fixed.

Mine is a Lariat. And yeah I don't know how many people from the area are up here. We have a real good dealership right here in Greenville. Hastings Ford has outstanding people working there.

Is there a TSB on this? Reason I ask is that if I go into the dealer they are going to ask why and how this is a problem.

Just Curious, were the other two trucks Lariat (or above) too? I just saw on another thread that the heated seats in lariat and up are heated via the TED & blower motor as opposed to XLTs heated seat pads... wondering if the TED & blower motor is causing the issue you are describing..

There's no TSB yet. But if nobody tells them about their truck doing it too, then it'll get " brushed under the rug" bc most people don't use those settings. I took my truck in to the dealer about a month ago, and they thought it was "just mine". So they tried different things on it with no luck. Turns out it's a bigger problem then just mine, as I checked 3 different trucks and each one I tried did it. (One was a 2017) Both other ones were 2016. Mine is not fixed yet. The dealer has it right now.

They will put that on their to do list along with the heated and cooled seat issue that they brushed under the rug

Interesting. I will have to see if I can replicate this. Not sure if it's a big a deal as OP is making it out to be. Don't think the seat will get hot enough in 15 minutes of remote start to burn the truck down.
