Unhappy multiple problems with my F150

I have a 2015 Ford F150 King Ranch with several current problems, not well addressed by my dealer. I have 112,000 miles on the truck, purchased it new, and at 50,000 miles the engine required major rebuild.

1. Truck in for routine maintenance, oil change. To my surprise, an oil leak was detected, and I was told to bring the truck back to allow for a diagnostic visit with a $150 fee. I brought it back, and was told there were multiple areas where oil was found, but no idea as to where it was coming from. They gave me an estimate of over $7000 to fix it. You can imagine my surprise, as I never had a problem with the truck, never saw a drop of oil where I park everyday, never added a quart of oil and never smelled oil or had problem with overheating. The following is how the report appeared on my paperwork: "Left side turbo, manifold, coolant, front cover re-seal, with valve cover gaskets, front cover gaskets, LoF, seals, re-seal oil pan, rear main seal. Would do turbo, oil pan and rear main seal 1st worst leaks. Front cover and seals just weeping at this time." I got a second opinion from a mobile mechanic who is very much trusted, and he said he would not recommend anything as this time. He showed me areas where there was some oil coating the various places, but no discrete leaks seem.

2. After the first visit above, I started experiencing multiple electronic issues: AC/Heater would spontaneously shut off, warning lights for cross traffic system fault and blind spot warning fault come on some days, some days not. The electronic running boards spontaneously switch to off from automatic. requiring reset, only to revert back to off again. The dealer could find no problems, They are all still occurring.

I am grateful for any assistance.

Just run it as-is. A few oil drips at that age are not a big deal. If you are adding 2 quarts between oil changes...that's different. As for the electrical gremlins, try opening up the firewall wiring harness connectors on the drivers side and adding some dialectic grease to the pins. It's worth a try and doesn't cost anything and could fix your issues. My 2 cents. Others may disagree.

2nd option would be to consider trading it in. But there is no way I would take it to that dealer and pay $7,000 for a few fluid leaks. Good luck!

Many thanks, very much appreciated. I am in complete agreement.

Many of the modules producing the problems you are seeing communicate over the MS-CAN bus. The most common problem causing MS-CAN bus problems is water in one or both taillamp assemblies if you have BLIS. Do you have BLIS? On a KR I would assume so. This would be unrelated to the oil leak issue.

On the oil leak issue, if you are not loosing enough oil to leave spots where you park, then just clean the engine up and as said before "run it as it is".

My bet for your error codes is that the battery was discharged too much during the recent service and was low on voltage. Fully charge the battery and I bet those issues go away, unless the battery got low enough to physically affect it.

And like everyone else indicates, $7k to fix minor oil leaks is nothing but a money grab. Find a different, competent mechanic.
