Mudflaps on Platinum question?

For those of you with front mudflats on your Platinum, do they eliminate the crud that ends up all over your retractable running boards in bad weather?

They do help, especially from keeping the buildup on the top of the step. The bottom of the step still gets pretty packed but not till a little further back.
