Default Mudflaps

I know this sounds stupid but is there any real benefit from adding the OEM flaps to the fenders? I bought them but I really prefer the clean look without them.

Hmmm, protects the truck finders from most rocks that are slung out of your tires, keeps the amount of mud, road grime, and such to a minimum. Basically helps protect the paint in that area. Other than that nope no benefit.

They'll keep mud and ice off of your running boards, which is especially important if you have the power deployable running boards.

Big benefit for me. I drive a mile every day in and out of my dirt driveway. Before the flaps, the side of the truck were covered in mud. Now they aren't.

If everything is paved where you live and the weather is fair most of the time, you probably don't need them.

Always the first thing I do to any pickup. Keeps it much cleaner.

Mostly Tarmac and gravel for me. And even in the muddy areas I've seen little difference after putting them on except.. as noted.. they do keep the running boards cleaner.
