I doubt if I would change my mind in the deep south, I would probably still frequent gravel roads...Matter fact, I am on one now...lol

Also in the winter the front mud flaps help keep the slush and ice from building up on the running boards. I've had trucks with and without the mud flaps during the winter and it makes a world of difference on the buildup on your running boards. Once that slush and ice freezes it really a mess and the front mud flaps stop a lot of the buildup.

Always had some form of mudflap on my trucks. My thought being it keeps snow, salt, mud, rocks, etc from getting flung up and dinging up the paint. But you have to get flaps that are long enough. I really like my flaps on my F150 from Duraflap made right here in the USA! I got the extra long flaps from than and couldn't be happier. Plus they look good and are nice and thick. Had them on for about 10k miles now and not much of any permanent bend in them. I'll see if I can dig up a picture.

As far as protection, it's gonna depend on tire size and rim offset. Stock size tires on stock rims, yes it protects well. Larger tires with some offset, not so much

Duraflap does custom sizes and widths for those with lifts, offsets, or wider tires.

Don’t want them, don’t like the look of them. Don’t see the point with the stock wheel set up. It all personal preference. Some like them and others don’t.

I drive straight home from the dealer and get them on ASAP. The road debris in the northeast is atrocious all year long from the damn cinders they use over the winter. Why PA does not use sand is beyond me, especially when it is used further north where the weather conditions are often worse.

Even with the stock wheels and running boards, the rear fenders, door handles, etc will have chips in no time without flaps.
