which MSRP the dealer use

Just came back from dealership, the salesman told me when they talk about MSRP, they always use that number "TOTAL BEFORE DISCOUNTS", not the "TOTAL MSRP", so in my case, the MSRP should be $65.970, not $63.970, is that right? first time buy a Ford, never heard that before, thanks in advance. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.f15...394dc087e.jpeg

Tell him you and Ford consider package discounts used in the calculation of the MSRP to be part of the MSRP. So they can use whatever they want but the Manufacturer Suggested Ridiculous Profit, is $63,970.00

I’d tell the sales person I don’t care what MSRP you use... I’m only paying invoice minus half the holdback minus all available rebates.

If they refuse to show you the invoice get up and walk out.

Dealers are using that tactic to inflate the total (fake) discount they are giving on a truck

MSRP = Total MSRP.

Using the total before discounts is as ludicrous as if you said you will use the total before options are added.

That dealer is trying to get you focused on a meaningless fight, it's a sales tactic. Just work off of invoice or find a dealer that isn't trying to use those lame games.

Why undersell yourself? I'm gettin all that holdback!

It's irrelevant as stated, since you don't buy based off a discount off MSRP. You buy based on money - how much they want out of your pocket - and that should be figured out from invoice, less rebates. Whether you can successfully get back some or all of holdback (3% of FULL MSRP) is up for discussion.

I would strongly suggest you Google X-Plan and join an organization with it, you're outmatched if this has you confused.

Where forum member "toptobottom" to explain this? LOL

Dealers also like to advertise "package discounts" in their "TOTAL VALUE" in savings.

What would be nice is to find actual invoice pricing.
