Default MPT Tune & engine temps

For those of you with a MPT tune, did you find that it increases your engine temp drastically while you're in boost?

I'm not sure how I feel about this... since I don't want to blow anything up.

Normal engine temp is around 90 degrees celcius, spikes up to 110 while I'm under boost, I'm assuming it would keep climbing if I kept my foot down.

MPT suggested I buy an aftermarket thermostat from them, but I'm not sure if that will make a difference.

Does this seem normal to you guys?

Any tune runs the engine and turbos harder. More power demand, more heat being created. The computer won't let the motor overheat... it'll decrease performance, shut cylinders down, etc. I wouldn't worry about it unless you're getting an engine power reduced notice frequently.

Do you think a cooler thermostat would help?
I'm more so concerned about reliability.

More boost, More timing, Higher cylinder pressures will do that. It's normal.

And that's also why most tuners have "performance" and "towing" tunes. Hook up 8-10K to your truck, load that hot 93-octane performance tune up, and go pull a long hill in hot weather, and you won't like the results.

And no, the thermostat won't help. The only thing that would help would be more cooling... either increasing the size and/or efficiency of the radiator, or increasing the size/speed of the fans.
