I use the mute button on Apple Car Play when I take conference calls in the truck when I am on the road. But even when I am in the Fiesta, it is pretty easy to use the mute button on the phone when taking conference call in that car. I don't see this as being a flaw.

I know there's one flaw for sure. That's my addiction to my phone and having it at the ready at all times..

What I mean by that, is not looking at it while I'm driving, but rather when I have music playing either thru Amazon or Google Play.
The music player's interface is actually nice to look at and everything I need such as; playlist's and last added are all accessible.
Yet... it drives me nuts that my phone is disabled even through I'm not looking at it! It's just the thought that I can't use it, is irritating. How pathetic is that...
It's just positively ridiculous, with how much I need or want my phone at the ready and I don't use it for games. So I would say I'm only half as bad as some.

Life was definitely better before them! Kids still got picked up and work still got done.

These are settings in Android Auto, which can be easily disabled. This issue has nothing to do with Ford.

You currently have Android Auto set to automatically launch into "Driving Mode" based on a Bluetooth connection to the truck, motion, and/or audio cues. You can disable these features in the settings in the Android Auto app itself. You can also set the phone to ask before turning on "Driving Mode".

Launch Android Auto, hit the menu button (top left), select "Settings". Select "Car Settings" then select "Turn on automatically" to see the options. Be sure to expand the "Advanced" section to see all the auto-launch options and disable them.

If you follow my settings above, Android Auto will ONLY launch when plugged-in to SYNC.

BierNut, it’s much easier to throw a hissy fit, rant about “design flaws” insult all Millennials, call folks retarded, simplistic and ignorant than to look into how to configure Android Auto.

You're not supposed to be doing anything with your phone while your driving so it doesn't matter if it takes over your phone. This is a really weird complaint. Do you mess with your phone while you're driving?
