Default Mirrors?

Have tow mirrors from factory on my 2015 XLT and bought some 16 or 17 stock regular mirrors to run in the winter when not pulling a trailer.
Looks like I'm trading for a new 2020 XLT with tow mirrors.
Question I have is will the regular mirrors I have work on the new truck? The salesman thinks there might be a compatibility issue because he thinks the 2020s have the ambient air temp sensor in the mirrors now.
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

From what I understand about the 18+ trucks, your salesman is correct. Why are you switching the mirrors out seasonally?

He is correct about the temp sensors now being in the mirror. Also the new truck could have different options than your 15.

Side note, I put 25,000+ miles a year on my trucks and just left the tow mirrors on year round and I'm wondering why you change them out?

First year I had the truck I got a rock hole in the lower arm on drivers side. Looked like it was shot with a .22. I went to buy a new arm but they don't sell parts other than glass. It was going to be $1750 to replace the one mirror ( Canada ).
I ended up getting Fiber New to repair it for $85 and looks like new. Can't tell it was repaired at all. Also my wife finds it easier to pull thru the drive thrus with the smaller mirrors.

Been there on the $1,750 replacement fee... that's a lot of $$ for one freak'in mirror. I got lucky with a warranty, but had to fight for it.
