Where is the microphone located in 2018 model F-150s?

People have suggested that they are having trouble hearing me through Apple CarPlay and I'm not sure if it is a software issue, or if it's an issue with the microphone. My first thought is to check that there is nothing physically blocking the microphone that might be muffling the sound, which could even be the result of cleaning solution residue.

 

I've tried this twice since get my 2018, and for the first call I got this complaint ("you sound really far away") and then I asked the second caller how I sound and they said I sounded fine. Also curious where the mic is or what might cause that.

 

Its the little square grill in the headliner between the sun visors.

 

that's the previous gen and not accurate for current gen trucks. the mic is located between the lights in the overhead console. the driver side of it to be exact

 

The pic I posted is where mine is located. 2018 XL. Of course I don't have a console up there but you get the picture.

 

 

Dude I'm lucky my XL came with power windows and locks. Lol. I love it.
