I have recently returned to the F-Series world after an absence in the GM world. My return is in a 2018 F-150 XLT, it has a 4.2" screen and I am looking to do a Sync 3 upgrade and want to know what I will lose; all i have read is that it is a simple swap to a 2018. I am curious as to what I will lose. I definitely don't want to lose the factory backup camera or the microphone. Any pointers? I have purchase the bezel, KL3T-18B955-SA and KL3T-18D832-BJ. I will be purchasing a nav antenna as it does have a connection...donor vehicle is a 2020 f-150.

 

If the components are programmed correctly, nothing is lost. I recommend reading the several threads on this forum that outline what you are wanting to do to become familiar with the process. Please be aware it’s not just a parts swap, you are going to need to edit AsBuilt of the modules to make things work correctly if you aren’t buying a preprogrammed kit from someone.
