Actually, the issue was a piece of heat shielding fell onto the front driveshaft at the differential, tearing the seal, allowing all the thick gear grease to leak out onto the cross member. Shielding rubbing on the driveshaft caused a loud metallic noise, no gear grease caused light metallic noise.
If you hear a noise, fully inspect your driveshaft...Ford service couldn't/didn't find my issue, and they had my truck for over 2 weeks total.

Yours might have been but, Back N Plat is an IWE issue. the vacuum somewhere is failing. Just wanted him to know it won't leave him high and dry out on the road. I thought that at first as well. First time it did it I thought I was going to have too call a tow truck. Now when it does it I hit the gas and let it grind...
