Default Media Panel Light

Ok, after taking delivery today, my head is spinning from all various vehicle settings in all of the menus.

The media panel on the console where the SD card and USB plugs etc are, has a sliding cover. As you slide the cover closed, the white light that illuminates that area turns off. I noticed that tonight after I locked my truck and all the lights turned off, that the white light stayed on. I waited for about 2 minutes and it never turned off. Does that light ever turn off by itself, or does Ford expect me to keep the door closed, so as to turn off the light?

I am unsure, since I keep this little cover closed, but it does reflect off the rear window at night. Took me a few minutes to figure out what the light was in my rear view mirror, I thought it was the bed light at first.

Too funny. I noticed the exact same thing as I pulled out of the driveway. Hit the switch for the bed light, thinking it may be on. Seems to reflect at the very top of the rear window.

I haven't received my truck yet, but I know my parents keep the same type of compartment open on their Explorer. I don't know if the light turns off, but their battery isn't dead after a few years of owning the vehicle. I don't know if any of this helps, but its all I've got haha.

look under the rubber liner in the bottom of the storage tray and you will see a place to hide a key
