I know its been over two years but would you happen to remember the seller on eBay to get the muffler for $88?

I'm having issues with my engine rpms sometimes fluctuating at lower rpms... usually if I was idling through a parking lot shortly after startup.

I don't think this is related to the muffer, but my dealer said it didn't throw any codes and it's probably related to the muffler causing low back pressure. My mpgs are pretty bad too.

Has anyone else experienced this?
I have the 12249 on my 2015 5.0 and I have not had any issues with the rpm's fluctuating at all. In fact, since I installed it a couple months ago, not only does it sound great, but I think I get slightly better gas mileage and it seems a tiny bit more responsive. I just had a local shop swap out the muffler and keep everything else stock. It cost me $110 for the muffler and $60 for the install.

I have just done the exact same thing. Bought the 12249 off amazon. Took a chance and got the open box one for 26.00. Buddy welded it in. Love the sound! Have only run one tank of gas and so far so good. One of my best upgrades and cheaper than the tailgate assist! Thanks for this thread!

I'm going to install one of these DIY, I'd like to do it with slip fit connections. What pipes/adapters are needed to do it this way? Does Ford use any weird size piping like 2.75?

Thanks.

installed the 12249 muffler only a couple weeks ago. 2016 F150 5.0. Muffler swap only.

Love the cold starts, idles, and WOT. deep rumble with a mature moderate, and classy sound. Im 40 and consider myself fairly sophisticated, so i didn't want my truck to sound like a 93 chevy worth 1700$, or equivalent like i had when i was young and poor. The truck sticker was 56,000 and damnit i expect it to still sound like a $56,000 vehicle, but anywho...

Inside the cab its taking some getting used to, If I am real light on the pedal, and i mean real light, going from 0-60 in 1 mile, it sounds great. Likewise sounds great at WOT. If you live in a metro area as I do, with 75000 stop lights between your work and the house, it gets old quick. The most aggravating range is 3rd and 4th gears while the vehicle is getting up to speed at around 1700 RPM. Have called several places asking about the difference on the 24". FYI - the 22" will be quieter than the 24 (bigger muffler overall). But the muffler shops have told me that the 1700 rpm sound is just the way it is with non stock exhaust and it wouldnt be alot of difference going to a 24". Not sure, i'll probably try it in about a month after I give this one (18") the "ol college try.

Hey guys, was warned about magnaflow on 5.0. Did not believe since I had them on Rams and GMs and loved them.....guess what, magnaflow drones on 5.0. I left the resonator on and added one and still get some. BTW, Stock muffler is straight through......Had I known, would have deleted resonator and trucked on down the road.
