Default Losing iPhone connection

My truck drops its iPhone connection probably between 10-20% of the time. It almost always reconnects automatically but if I'm listening to a podcast downloaded onto the phone I have to switch audio sources to FM or AM radio and then back to iPhone to get it to start playing again.

Is this common? It connects again and is simply an annoyance, but I never had this type of connectivity issue with my Frontier, which was definitely older technology.

Mine has never dropped like that.

Both your phone and radio can be reset. I’d try that first.

Have you tried to connect the phone with a cable?

I sometimes get glitchy things after an update occurs. I completely unpair the devises, power cycle phone, re-pair and it resolves the issues. Worth a shot, cost = $0.00

Thanks for the info.

I haven't noticed it happen when I have the phone charging cable plugged in but I haven't done that very much (usually do my recharging at office or home).

How often do you restart your iphone? My phone will start to do this periodically. I have to restart the phone and then it is good for a week or so. I also have to restart my phone about once per week just so that my airpods will connect again. An apple "genius" once told me that my phone will work much better if I restart it daily.

If you continue to have the problem after restarting your phone. Try resetting the head-unit. Press and hold the power button & forward skip (>>) button at the same time for roughly 7-10 seconds. You can do this with the truck already on.
