I just got back from a 1,400 mile road trip and my truck was caked in bugs. I went through one of those 'touchless' car washes and folded my mirrors in so the jets could hit the mirror housing and knock the bugs off.
When I folded them back out I noticed my driver side mirror was basically pointing at the ground. Ever since then I haven't been able to get it adjusted to a position with a good field of view. It does still actuate though. I also noticed that every time I start up the truck the BLIS light on the driver side lights up for a couple seconds then turns off (which might be normal but I just noticed it and the passenger side light doesn't do it)
Does anyone know if there some internal clips or something that might have popped loose?
It probably Stripped one of the Drive gears from folding it in you got allot of water pressure from the driver window and the mirror kind of like a wind tunnel the water was beating at it when it was folded in, I never fold mine in and have had no problems at the touchless wash
Try adjusting them all the way up(to look at the sky) and then back down. With the driver's seating memory, it will do that to seemingly reset the mirror's position in the housing.
