I guess if it's not want you want you can back out, but wow all that waiting.

I would think also you can get better deals on what's on the lot. I always have...

Just my 2 cents.

There is only one thing I would order site unseen and that is an MP5 SD they are running around 23K now and I want one and will probably order one someday. Oh and 400 to the ATF two tax stamps... Full auto and built in suppressor. Gotta support them. LOL

Depends on your dealer. I get the same great deal as if I pick one off the lot. Pays to find a great dealer and stick with them trough the years. Bad thing is for every good dealer there is 10 bad ones out there who want to scam you.

For some trucks, there are none or very few ordered on spec by dealers, so a special order may be required to the needed truck..especially heavy duty payload package trucks, regular cabs, naturally aspirated 3.5's, or some of the less common colors. A national search by a local dealer only found one heavy duty payload 14 or 15 SuperCrew new that they could get...a '14 XL with vinyl seats and it was several states away.

Add the tow mirrors and that's the exact truck I want. Out of hundreds of trucks I looked at online, maybe 2 had tow mirrors. If I'm going to spend 40K+, I'm going to get exactly what I want.

I don't mind the wait so much... But I am bothered by how they told me it will be 6-8 weeks. I'm going on my 15th week, and they still can't give me a date!!

I can track a parcel from amazon or something from across the world, but I can't seem to find out where exactly my truck is?!?! Makes no sense to me!!

Argh! Let the waiting continue!

Did they give you a VIN # yet?

Yeah that's why you don't typically see dealers with a massive stock of KR and Plats sitting on lots (as compared to XLT's and Lariats). Generally speaking, the person who is going to spend 60K on a truck, wants it exactly how they want it and they want it NEW with 6 miles on it, not newish with 200 miles of test drives on it.

Great!!!! COTUS said my truck was supposed to arrive last Wednesday. Dealer doesnt know where it is at and they "have to" contact the trucking company to find it? I still have no firm arrival date either. :censored:

We wait together my friend.

Total bs

What you are going through is just that. I ordered on 7/8. Screw, Lariat, 4x4, 36 gal tank, tow mirrors, max tow, sprayed in bedliner. Built 8/4. Bedliner sprayed in and returned by 8/6. Shipped on 8/7. Expected delivery on 8/16. Built in Dearborn, headed for Charlotte. Hope they don't lose it....

The delivery issue is all over the internet, most forums, etc. The norm is now 12-14 weeks from order to delivery. If your delivery is via rail, there is a nationwide shortage of vehicle rail cars. In addition, parts being shipped by vendors to assembly plants via rail are delayed with the result that the time from VIN receipt to build date is longer.
