As the price of fuel continues to rocket up I’m reminded of the gas pirates of the 70’s. I was a 20 y/o driving a Ford pinto (after it was reported they would explode on rear impact those cars got real cheap) and found myself out of gas one Friday morning, a victim of the same gas thieves. My XLT has a no locking feature on the door or the fill pipe. Just that annoying flap. Has anyone found a way to lock the fuel door, or a good locking cap to fit on these trucks? I don’t wanna wait until my tank gets sucked dry.
The tank can't be "sucked dry" because there is no way to get a hose down into the tank. That's why the new way to access the gas is to drill a hole in the tank. I'm told this is what the fill assembly looks like:

I recently bought a locking gas cap for my 13 F150 and found it didn’t lock securely. Easily pried off with my thumbnail. Now Looking at your photo and before trying to find a better locking gas cap… I’m going to try and slide a long length of plastic tubing to see if there’s a baffle !
I recall hearing there were baffles but then again Ford does sell locking gas caps #8U5A-9C268-AC (oem seller listed it as compatible w/F150 as well as many other models) that fits perfectly flush and key turns to Lock but when I fiddled with it it just popped off, I think I the catch is too short to engage with filler lip.
they can be siphoned with a rigid tube, I did it 2 years ago, we were without power for 4 days, only had enough gas for 2 days. siphoned over 20 gallons of gas out of my 2018 f150...it was very simple to do.

A few of us at my work got together to design and make a locking cap for the F-150 Easy Fuel type C.
