Default Loading Ramps Causing Order to be on Hold

Merry Christmas guys, hope everyone has a great one this year.

I wonder if anyone has any more info than what the dealer can give me. I placed my order just under a week ago (Blue Flame XLT Crew, 3.5EB, 4x4, 302A Sport Appearance) and included the loading ramps. At that point I was told they are late availability and will prevent it from being built. However, the salesman had no timing when they will be available so right now I'm in limbo waiting.

Who else is experiencing this?

Thanks,
Steve

I was told the same thing. Wanted ramps and tonneau cover when I ordered it, salesman took the order to the manager for pricing and he said they won't build it because they didn't have the items yet. I did get the bed extender, that wasn't a problem to order.

Just an FYI for the ramps. They only have a max weight rating of 700 lbs. I was going to get them when I ordered but my quad with me on it is over that. Kind of surprised they have them that low considering most utility quads are in the 600+ range without you on it.

Not to doubt your info but I asked the salesman the weight rating of the ramps. They sent me a snapshop of the Ford Kiosk and the caption at the bottom the screen shows 800lbs each.

The salesman also told me it was made of aluminum (I'd prefer aluminum over steel ramps). Of course the salespeople will say anything to make a sale, not sure that either of the 'facts' above are correct. Anyone have any details, I did a google search and couldn't seem to find much at all on the web...

Thanks!

Your right, I could of sworn it said 700 lbs in the owner manual. I just checked and it states ramp max is 800. The info is on page 247 of the owners manual.

To make sure I am 100% clear, the weight rating of each ramp is 800 lbs (total of 1600 lbs for both)? Or the weight rating of both ramps is 800lbs? Important difference there for me.

My Sportsman 850 XP is over 800lbs on its own, add me on top and it is now well north of 1000lbs.

Hi Gerrard,

From what the salesperson said (and the info on the kiosk snapshot she sent me indicated) it is 800lbs for each ramp, so combined I'd imagine they would be capable of handling 1600lbs as long as it was evenly distributed.

I'm still curious if it is actually an aluminum or steel. From the pics, the cross sectional square tubing looks like pretty thick metal so I'd have to guess aluminum, but I have not seen anything in actual writing or on a fact sheet. Anyone know for a fact what the ramps are to be made of?

Also, anyone out there reading this who is 'in the know' about timing? The other thing the salesperson said was "sometimes they advertise late availability for an option and then 8 months later they just cancel the option all together"... Not sure if that's actually happened or the sales guy just wants to move forward on processing the order.

I was told to expect my truck with ramps Q2 of next year.

Cancel the ramps and buy them from the selling dealer at cost.

Problem solved. You will get the truck faster and they will get the sale faster.
