Went to pick up my sister this morning for a day trip, everything looked normal and was working as it should. Shut the truck off while helping load it for our trip, start it back up and my screen looks like this... No phone screen, radio screen, settings "buttons" along the bottom, clock, temperature, nor home "button"

Shutting the truck off did nothing. Comes back on that way no matter how long the truck was off today. Touching anywhere did nothing. Changing volume, incoming calls/text, anything that normally popped up on the screen, also did not ever pop up either.

Also when in reverse, the camera pops up and works full screen as it should, but stays on for 30 seconds or so when I switch back to drive and continue driving forward.

And lastly, the dimmer does not work on it, so when driving home on the highway tonight, I had to take a towel and put it over it so I wasn't being blinded.


I did use ForScan to change to the GT theme, but that was well over 6 months ago and never had a problem before today, so I doubt they're related.

Can I / should I, change it back before bringing it to the dealer Monday after work? Or has anybody experienced this and know a simple fix??? Would disconnecting the battery reset my ForScan changes? Possibly fix the screen? I'm open to any suggestions before taking it in Monday, Thanks.

FYI...you don't need for forscan to change the theme.

Just press the right arrow on the right side of steering wheel simultaneously while pressing the right arrow on the media selection button.
The sound test will pop up, just press cancel and you're in.

Maybe try this first.

I've changed my theme this way a few times, it usually reverts back to the original set mode after shut down-start up.

 

Sound like your version updated. New versions of sync no longer have the GT theme. Undo it in forscan and you should be back working

 

Yes, I'm aware of that, but if you don't want to do that every time you start your truck, you do it with Forscan once and it's done... I'd prefer not doing that every time.
However, I did try going back into it that way (had done it many times before I got Forscan) and I was unable to see or press the cancel button for the sound test.

Just got a new liecense for Forscan and going out to try to change it back, but not having much hope. At least it will be back to normal for bringing it to the dealer tomorrow...

So quick question. I just did a sync 3 swap in my friends F150. I knew the APIM was from a Lincoln and my friend doesn't really care for the brown/black theme like he thought he would.
How do I change to just the Ford blue them?
I've done 5 sync3 swaps but that was like 4 years ago so I'm a little rusty. I looked in the spreadsheet but all I saw was the splash screen which I did change. Although it still shows a Lincoln logo on shutdown.

It's on 2.3 Sync. I was going to update it to 3.4. Should I do that first?
