Default Line-x and Box Link

I just bought a 2016 Platinum and will take it back to the dealer to have it sprayed with line-x. Question - if they spray behind the box link attachment will the box links still fit?

Hmm, maybe that's why I was having suck a hard time getting mine on. I actually gave up and decided I should look for instructions but maybe that's what's wrong.

Yes you will be fine as long as they remove all the hardware and then spray.

Can you send me a pic of yours? The dealer is not convinced it will work. I would prefer to have that part of the bed sprayed as well.

Tell the dealer to look at a factory sprayed truck with the cleats. Some dealers just amaze me,lol.

I had my box link plates removed before spraying. It works fine. They should also remove the standard tie-downs and all grommets except the big ones in the front. Lights and switch if equipped. Bed bolts too.

The tailgate inside panel should be removed and sprayed separate.

Bed rail caps should not be removed. Too many clips to break. Tape off and spray to the bottom edge.

Then, if you're like me, powder coat your bed bolts black to match.

If the dealer doesn't do as suggested, he is just lazy.

Is he really doing Line-X brand? If you don't like his attitude, call line-x. They will fix the problem.

Note, in the pic below, the light and switch blank-offs are held in with a plastic spreader bar behind. My installer asked whether I wanted to spray thin so they would clip back in place. I chose to roll my own way. The clips on the back side don't like the extra thickness. I think some folks mask off a little edge to avoid that problem. I'm happy with my solution. In the future, the switch location will become a power connector.

The factory sprayed in liner does not spray behind the brackets where the box links attach to the truck. I was hoping to spray behind there.

Just my opinion, go get a real line x from a line x shop. The are top notch.
