Default lighter socket

I know this has been asked but I can't find it. Does the front cigarette lighter socket stay live after the truck is shut off? If not is there a way to keep it powered up. TIA

It stays on for about 10 minutes after you turn off the truck. I don’t have an answer to the second part of the question as I’ve never looked into it, but someone else who sees this might.

Mine was turning off when I turned on the truck but a couple of days ago it was staying on.

Mine just started doing the same. It used to shut off when locked.

Today, i locked her up about 2 hr ago and it was still live (I have battery level/temp sensor gizmo plugged in.

Weird as I thought no ciggy lighter was live all the time.

The power points are controlled by the BCM via FET (Field Effect Transistor) circuits and powered by non-serviceable relays in the BJB. The way the circuits work can be changed using FORScan and modifying the BCM As-built PIDs. There are lots of threads in the forum regrding this subject. There seems to be some variance on what the factory default setting was. My truck was factory set at 1 h, 15 min.
