Default Level/Tire Options

2015 F150 SuperCab XLT 5.0 4x4

I got a flat on my way back from work and decided it may be time to pull the trigger on a level and bigger tires. I have the stock 265/70R17 tires and want to go up to something in the 33-34" range. The majority of my driving is on the highway and I'd prefer to stay away from the big heavy M/T's.

Here are my questions. I'm sure it's been asked before, so pardon my rush for answers as I sit here in the shop trying to figure out what to order before closing time.

1. With a 1.5" front level, how big can I go in tire diameter without rubbing?
2. How wide of a tire can I safely install on the 17" factory rims?
3. What tires do you recommend in the 33-34" size range (A/T preferred).
4. Do I need to buy the speedo calibration tool or can I reprogram for larger tires without it?

Thank you for your help!

I've got a 16' XLT 2.7l EB with a 2.5" RC level. I ordered my Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx 295/70r18's today. They're measuring a little over 34" tall and 11" wide. Gonna try and put them on tomorrow. I'll let you know how they fit! As far as A/T, I don't think there is a better looking one. My opinion. Take a look!

I went with 285/70R17 KO2's. No rubbing at full lock on stock suspension and minimal change in fuel economy. 1.5" auto spring level goes in Wednesday.

Well, absolutely ZERO rubbing. I've done everything possible to try and make them rub! 295/70r18 Cooper Discoverer Maxx with a 2.5" RC leveling spacer in front. I'll have better pics tomorrow but I am thrilled. Rides like a dang dream!
