most shops want 3+ hours labor plus alignment $99.00 so anywhere from 400-600$ do it yourself and have aligned

I got quoted 200-400 including alignment. I provided the parts for this cost.

I called 4-5 places near me. The Ford dealership turned out to be the best price. $315.00 for labor and alignment. I did provide the parts for the level.

Just do it yourself and save the $$. Then pay for the alignment.

it takes two hours for even someone with basic mechanical knowledge to do it yourself. I would not pay a shop 3+ hours to do something I bet takes them 1.5 hours. esp not at almost $100/hr

rip off in my opinion.

I dont know, this doesn't seem like a "quick" on-off solution. I dont have an air compressor, or air wrench and the fact that it can take a qualified person around 3 hours to do it makes me think it would take around 8 for me. Time is money.

$400-$600 for tools and 8 hours of my time -vs- $400-$600 and 3 hours of someone elses time.

I'm leaning towards having someone else do it....at that point, if something goes wrong you have someone else to blame/fix the issue.

. You don't need air tools to do the job, they just make it a lot easier.

I highly doubt you'll have to deal with any rusty bolts considering this is in the 2015-present truck threads.

The only reason to have someone else do it, in your case, would be (like you said) to have someone else's *** incase something broke..

Honestly, when I did mine I had no real tools, had to borrow from uncles, but the hardest part was the lower strut bolt (and by hard I mean almost impossible, which you luckily dont have on a 2015) everything else was cake especially since you dont have 5 years of dirt and rust on your parts.

I would say it will take 2 hours each side minus any trips to purchase a tool. The tools you need you can likely get it all (assuming you have absolutely nothing) for under $100. Impact wrench I only needed on the lower strut bolt (which again you dont have) everything else was hand tools.

you don't need air tools. yes it makes it easier, but...

you don't have any buddies with tools? buy them a case of beer lol.

a impact gun, regular hand tools, a heavy mallet, and a crow bar.

but if you don't have the tools then i guess you don't have the choice but to take it in. i personally wouldn't pay over 300ish for an install.
