We are outside lemon law time frame here of course (18mos of ownership, which for us started 2/1/17). Anything else I can do?

We are still under Ford warranty, as well as dealer separate warranty for 100,000 miles on all Fords that they service...Looking to approach the current dealer it is with, as well as the one we bought it from to replace it in a trade if it can't be solved soon, but want to make sure we don't have any other Ford corporate actions to try...
My suggestion is to invest in an hours worth of consulting with your local lemon law attorney and see what options are open to you, if any.
Money well spent instead of listening to internet hearsay, mine included.

If you are outside your state’s lemon law guideline you are out of luck. The only thing you might receive would be any good faith, either on the side of your dealer or Ford itself. It never hurts to open a case with Ford Customer Service. They can allocate additional resources that your dealer cannot. In my case they sent a tech from Michigan to confirm my truck was broken (Ha!).

Good luck. At least you have an extended warranty...

I would contact a Lemon Law lawyer from your state (they are free and will take your case for free) and research the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (Federal Lemon Law which trumps state law). I just got approved for a buy back today on my 2016 ecoboost which is well past my states guidelines.

Interesting, what if the attorney does not win the case for you? Are they still free?

I had the exact same concern when starting my case. In my attorney's retainer contract it mention only that it was free. So I asked the question "What if we lose?". The attorney stated "I won't take a case I know I would lose". But that if Ford denies the arbitration, then you and your attorney can push for the case to be seen in front of a judge which will change the situation. In that case if you lose in front of a judge, you "could" be liable for all court costs on both sides. You can stop the case if you don't want it to go before a judge.

ford arbitrator called me today asking if they could attempt a final repair. They wanted to hear more about my previous buyback cases as well. I told them they could make an attempt. They said they’re waiting on info from my dealer in what sounded to me like they may not even try an attempt because of the amount of tome it was already in the shop.

How many vehicles have you owned that have been bought back? I could understand some seriously bad luck and maybe one buy back in the past, but buyback cases?

I would imagine if more than one, it might raise a red flag.

I never had a vehicle bought back. I opened up a case with ford for a buyback and they denied it. At that time it was out for repair for 41 days. It was denied. I then had more repairs done to the truck and it was out for another extended period of time so I opened another case with ford. They denied me a second time. At that point is when I decided to open a case with the attorney general. Now I have a ford arbitrator calling me about my previous buyback cases. Sorry for the confusion. A friend of mine is a service manager for Honda and he said he doesn’t understand why I was denied the first or second time after looking at all my paperwork. He also said that all the test drives I took without having a repair order should be mentioned because that counts as time. The arbitrator is waiting for all the info from my dealership. She said once she has all the paperwork she’s going to decide on if I should have a final repair attempt or what to do next. Sounded to me like she almost wanted to settle. I have no idea if that could be done at this point but it looks like progress is finally being made

And the latest... dropped off the 26th, received a call a week later it went from constant errors to intermittent, to none existent again.
We all know it is some sort of electrical or computer failure but can't trace it down.

Ford has responded that it may have been fixed with all the checking out plugging and unplugging wires and may never know what happened. (They also have never seen this issue before, nor any other local dealer)

I hope when we get it back this time they are right, but we certainly no longer plan to keep this truck to over 100,000 miles like our last one If it happens again, as they have no exhausted all of Detroit's suggestions, I will be pushing for a replacement/trade in.
