Default LED Questions

I'm fairly new here and have been reading a bunch of the modification threads. One modification / upgrade that intrigues me is replacing nonLED lights with LED lights, and I have couple of questions.
  1. I found a source, but their listing only goes up to 2016 F150s. Are the lights the same for 2016 and 2017?
  2. What is the downside for getting the brightest possible light for the license plate lights? Backup lights, etc?
  3. Does anyone know of the 2017 502A package has LED fogs? I haven't had the truck after dark since I've started contemplating this.
  4. What type of gotchas do I need to look for and avoid moving to LEDs?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Lights are the same for 17.
The license plate lights point rather upwards, so brighter just lights up your tail gate more and causes glare on your back up camera. Also, the housings are quite small, so nothing bigger than the stock bulb fits. I got small white 194 LEDs for the license plate lights after finding the brighter bigger ones didn't fit. Even the ones I have are almost too bright.
I have no reason to believe 502a changed fog lights for 2017, so no they are halogen. Morimoto replacement fogs seem to be the best option, but you can also put LED bulbs in there, they just won't be as effective.
I do not believe the reverse lights are replaceable on the LED tail lights, but I could be corrected.
License plate and fog lights would be all you'll need to replace to get a 502a to full LED. But make sure you get a set of fog light bulbs that have a properly placed chip to utilize the reflectors in the fog light properly (nothing corn-cob style).
