Default Led headlight add on question

For anyone that has paid the $1700+ to swap to the led's, what if you get in an accident & your headlights need to be replaced, will your insurance replace the aftermarket part? Maybe its a dumb question but I don't know. I'm gonna call my insurance company and ask but just thought I would ask the people that have done the swap. A lot of money to spend for the insurance company to turn around & say they will only replace the factory ones......tho I haven't hit a deer in a year & half, I'm usually a magnet for them lol

Anything aftermarket requires special aftermarket insurance, generally. Most insurance companies will only cover the car as it was originally.

State Farm has always covered anything and everything extra on all of my vehicles without any advanced notification and I have had some serious goodies on my motorcycles and trucks. I have a had motorcycle stolen and they replaced the carbon fiber exhaust, custom panels, etc. and hit a deer last year with my 2012 F-150...they replaced my HID kit, clear bra, custom decals, etc. State Farm rocks!

You can add coverage for extra parts to your policy. There will be a slight increase in premiums. If you don't add coverage, the insurance isn't obligated to cover extra parts, but sometime will anyway.
