Default Leaking Brake Question

I got into my truck today and saw a drip on my Husky floor mat directly under my brake pedal. I felt the substance and it's clear and oily feeling. I looked under the dash with a flashlight and followed the brake pedal to the top. It has a whitish plastic piece connected to it at the top that appears to be filled with brake fluid? This is the source of my leak as there was another drip fixing to fall. What is this and is the truck safe to drive until I can get into the dealership next week?

There is no brake fluid in the truck. The plastic piece is a bushing most likely. I will bet it is safe to drive. Might be a lube they used in the factory that is dripping. Relax get it looked at next week.

Thanks for the reply!

If it's not the break pedal leaking, what else could that be? Power steering? It looks like a white plastic reservoir type thing that sets right at the top of the break pedal perhaps the underside of the steering column. It looks to have a screw in it to hold it together. I'm a large man and wasn't able to get wedged under the driver's side dash long enough to take a picture. It has fluid in it because it's leaking! Ugh...

I am not sure. As far as I know the master brake cylinder is on firewall in the engine compartment. If there is a cylinder in the cab that is new to me. I am in Portland and my truck is in Cleveland so I can not look and see. I still would not worry about it. Take it to the dealer when you get a chance. You should be fine

The white housing is the Brake Pedal height adjuster gearbox
There is a black cable housing on the left side that goes to the Gas pedal
Must be the lube that is in the gearbox leaking out.
Like the op said get your dealer to check
The other point to check like smd3 pointed out is the master cylinder boot/ oprod for leaking brake fluid

I helded a light in my mouth and rested Beer belly on step to take pictures ha.

Did you check the fluid reservoir under the hood?

There is a physical connection from the brake pedal, to an actuator rod, that goes to the master cylinder. It seems unlikely that the fluid would make its way into the cabin, but you should check the fluid level.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue and how much time did it take the dealer to resolve? I really enjoy being armed with knowledge from here before I go present an issue for warranty work!

I really don't think it's the brake master cylinder because
It's mounted to the Brake vacuum booster on the firewall under the hood
Iam more leaning to the brake pedal adjuster unit. This item maybe replaced as a unit?
I can't find a parts break down on the Ford parts sight

There is a TSB on the brake master cylinder sucking brake fluid from the reservoir
And causing brake pedal to fade to floor.

But for 14/15 models?
