Default Lead frame issue

I have a 2015 3.5L EcoBoost Lariat with 67K miles. Last week, the check engine light came on then switched to the wrench. I noticed low power in first couple gears a few times. The next day, I slipped a gear going around 40-45 mph. Checked the code and came back P0721.
Brought to Ford Service and they're telling me I have a "cracked" Lead Frame that will cost $1150 (there's also one tire pressure sensor they need to replace, but that's a separate issue).
It will take over a week to order the new lead frame and there may be "additional issues" once they get into transmission including the pump, solenoids, etc.
This happened TWO weeks after I had NO brakes and was told the brake hose (NOT the line) had cracked/burst/ruptured where it meets the caliper and I had to pay $500 in repairs. I'm told by the rep he's never seen these things happen on my year vehicle at this mileage.
I take good care of my truck. I get regular service, keep low miles, and don't go off-road. WTH is going on, do I have a lemon? Are any of these issues up for recall for the 2015? I know Ford has terrible problems with their transmissions but thought that was the newer 10 speed.
How much should I expect to pay for this transmission service and should I order my own parts? Ford service rep mentioned something about not being in stock, but I found on Amazon. Any chance Ford Motor might assist with cost if I report to them? Appreciate any assistance

Seems to be somewhat common. Looks like it's not too bad to do it yourself. I've thought about doing mine as preventative maintenance but I'll probably wait a little longer.

There is a TSB/Recall for the lead frame - however i dont think it lists the 2015 model year. I would see what your service advisor can do beings its the same transmission and may be a late 2014 build date.
