Latest acquisition: OEM Bed divider
Found a decent deal on this, just in time for our trip to the mountains. Now I might not have to send in the 6 yr old to retrieve sliding cargo, not that he'd mind....

Actually I think another use used a 6x6 on here, IIRC. I saw it in the "Best mods under $50" if I'm not mistaken.

When that fell through I figured I would go a different direction but I do like that solution when it works.

I picked up a set of clamps from Northern Tool that were supposed to allow you to use a 2x4 in that manner. The clamps were supposed to fit in the Boxlink plates. I wasn't able to make them fit (might've been due to the spray in liner behind the plate but I can't confirm that.

Or if you wanted to use the plates, you can pick up extra sets of tie downs for the plates for around $30, and use the extra set to build a divider with.
Regardless I'm not trashing your purchase, it's cool, I think Ford way over priced it though.

His 6x6 was leftover from a construction project.

I used an 8' 2x6 that I cut down (and ripped thinner on the bottom rail/slats) to make this one:

I used the etrack lumber holders.
I have since painted it black and it looks much better. One thing I still have to do is add a couple "feet" to it. The bottom rail fits in front of one the last slot, but the bottom "walks" a bit forward when driving and ends up tilted. There is a lot of play in the etrack holders in the boxlink.
I just noticed the OEM one had a couple of feet along the bottom, I think if I add those, it will keep it straight.

This is what I did.......(I posted this a few months ago)...the board slides into the vertical slots just behind the rear wheel wells.
I stole the idea from the "Best Mods under $50" thread. I bought a 2" x 12", pressure treated board....8 feet long (they didn't have 6'), as you'll need about 66" if I remember correctly. I have a hole saw (for putting holes in doors, etc.), so I drilled the largest holes I could. My wife painted a couple of coats on it, I screwed the milk crate in, and cut 2 rubber strips (from a piece of old truck tire I have) to drop in at each end to keep the board in place better (rattle-wise). This configuration makes it easy to put grocery bags in the back....1 in the box, 2 bags...put them both on one side of the box.....3 bags...1 in the box and 2 on one side.....you get the idea. Holds 5 grocery bags great, or 4 cases of beer and a 12-pack of good beer in the middle ;-) It's quite functional, and can be lifted out in 2 seconds if you need to load something into the bed. Even with the cleats in, I can just squeeze the board up, angled a little, and slide it up past the cleats without removing them.
I think the board cost around $15, plus the old milk crate that I had.
