Angry Lane Keeper system improved??

My 2020 truck does a poor job on lane keeping - If I used it, it would kill me.

Anything new on that system - any new software? I dont see anything on this forum, so I assume I can only take it back to the dealer for a calibration.

My truck is stock. Does anybody love their lane keeper??

It is not "Lane Keeping", it is "Lane Keeping Assist", and not meant to be an auto pilot. That being said, I don't care for it and rarely use it.

I'm not impressed. M wife's Jeep Cherokee does a much better with lane assist. Though it does a poorer job at keeping distance.

I turn mine on only when eating a sandwich and driving on the hwy. Not a fan of the pinball technology.

I have it active but at the lower setting. It just gives me a nudge if I drift a tad.
That said, it DOES nudge me at exactly the wrong time sometimes.

LKA sucks in the F150. Mine will keep me in a lane (barely) then immediately stop working (the lanes turn gray in the dash). I just wish it wouldn't reset almost every time is does a correction.

Good question original poster I hope this helps. I like my 2018 lane keeping system and keep it on all the time. Its certinally not a hands free driving system. It can and will allow the truck to drift across a lane marking at times. I don't mind the occasional nudge while knowing in full conscious control, as I feel it in the steering wheel. It's assistance is starting to engage ever so slightly as I am allowing the truck to approach the lane edge. Nor do I mind when changing lanes the momentary nudge, the system gives. That being no one being near enough, needing to engage the turn signals, as I am crossing a lane marking. I keep my Lane keeping system on maximum sensitivity. Is it a perfect system, no. It was an impressive start in 2018 for me that I appreciate Ford offering. As one friend said first hearing about the lane keeping system, that one option might have save him from his serious drifting off the road incident. I play with my system from time to time, hands just slightly off the steering wheel. Approaching a curve on the freeway and it will correct momentarily turning the wheel, then driving straight incrementally making following corrections following the curve. There are times too when it does not make the first corrective action and I have to step in. Usually once it starts it will follow the complete curve in the road. New technology is impressive, usually improving to a much better level in following model years. Unfortunately it's not usually backwards compatible. I noted earlier this year, looking at the 2021 F150 there's a self-driving option available to be fully activate upon the arrival of software due later in 2021, that might be an upgrade to consider.
