Default Kicker Hideaway 8" sub

Hey Guys, I think I'm going to install the Kicker Hideaway behind the rear seat. I have read through Southpaw's write up (https://www.f150forum.com/f30/wiring...-guide-307111/ ) but I was wondering if I had to do anything different since I have the very disappointing Sony system. Can I still splice into the rear speakers and follow all the other instructions? I'm a rookie when it comes to car audio! Thanks

I don't see why not. Did your Sony come with a sub?

Yes...a very poor one! Honestly you wouldn't even know it's there it's that bad. Since this is a self contained unit it I shouldn't have any problems just leaving the stock one the way it is should I?

You might post in the Stereo/Audio https://www.f150forum.com/f30/ section. I would think you would obviously have to remove the crappy sub, and from that point on I don't know. But I did see a section for adding a sub w/Sony system in that section somewhere.
