Question Keypad not working

Today I was going for a run and I usually lock my keys in the truck (standard key fob, no press to start), but when I get out and press the bottom two buttons to lock the doors nothing happened. So, I get back in the truck and check the power door locks in the same door and it unlocks the truck. I get out and try again and still no luck. While outside the truck, I try the key fob and it also works correctly. Here's what works and what doesn't:

(1) The keypad will not lock or unlock the truck.

(2) When I get out of the truck and shut the door the keypad lights up.

(3) After the door is closed and the lights turn off, the keypad does not light up when I press the buttons.

(4) The internal power locks work just fine.

(5) The key fob will also lock/unlock the doors.

Anyone have any ideas? I figure it is a cut wire somewhere, but the keypad is obviously getting power because it lights up when I get out of the truck. In addition, the truck is only a few months old (6k miles). That's a pretty short time to have a wiring failure.

Anyone have any ideas?

It's under warranty. Take it in to dealer.

I had this same issue. Mine first started acting up after a few days of rain. Whether the rain had something to do with it, I don't know. My truck isn't out in the rain for long since it is garaged, so it's not like it sat out and got drenched.

Anyway, the store goes: My wife and I had another kid in October. He was 6 weeks early so he had to spend some time in the NICU. Obviously we were driving up there a few times a day, couldn't stay because we had a 5 year old at home. So I was at the hospital and I was in the habit of locking my keys in the car and just using the keypad. We were leaving to go home and get my daughter from the bus stop, then right back up to the hospital to feed the baby. Keypad didn't work. It lit up, and the back drivers' door would make a lock sound when I pressed the bottom two buttons together, but nothing else would happen. I called Ford's roadside service deal and someone was out there within 35 minutes to unlock it so it wasn't terrible. I didn't mess with it after that. I checked it a couple weeks later and it worked. It's been working fine since November. The only thing I have done is flashed different tunes onto my truck. I still don't lock my keys in there but the keypad works fine when I check it.

We haven't received a lot of rain since then so maybe that affected it somehow?

I did run my truck through a brushless carwash yesterday. Maybe that has something to do with it. The carwash was pretty powerful...strong enough for the water jets to rock my truck side to side. Maybe the electronics got hosed, but I still find it bizarre that the keypad lights up when you get out of the truck, but will not when you actually touch the keys.

Maybe I'll let it dry out for a few days and see what happens.
