Default Keypad Malfunction/Broke

At the hospital to take home my baby who has spent 9 days in the NICU and low and behold my keypad will no longer unlock the truck. It has been awesome for the past 5 months to just leave the keys in it and use the keypad for access. I have no idea what happened.

Here's some backstory: it has been raining here pretty heavily for the past 2 days. How that could affect it I have no idea. Every time I press the 7/8 button the turn signal indicator lamps in the side mirrors light up and I can here a click in the drivers side rear door, but it doesn't unlock. Punching it and cussing at it hasn't worked yet.

I called Ford Roadside Assistance and they are on the way for free. Curious if you guys ever experienced this or have any idea why it might be acting up.

I called the local FD and they don't do unlocks unless someone is locked inside. Funny, my FD does them all the time regardless.

Why are you pushing the 7/8 button? Mine unlocks all doors after punching in my code. Did you try the passenger side door?

Looks like you need that key that's inside the FOB that's inside the truck. In your wallet, which I'm going to do right now while I think about it.

Roadside Assistance got out here in 40 minutes from the time I called so that was great. Got the door unlocked no problem. For future reference, it's easiest to use the snare tool on the back door to pop up the mechanical lock since pulling the door handle from the inside doesn't work and trying to push the unlock button is difficult.

I tried all the doors before I called. That would have been more embarrassing than admitting the keys were locked inside of it and the keypad on a new truck wasn't working.

I pushed the 7/8 button because it's part of my code, and I noticed the turn signal lights flashed when I pushed it. Then I noticed there was a click like the back door was locking when I pushed just that button. I know 7/8;9/0 lock all doors. But this was flashing lights and making a lock sound just with 7/8.

I tried it again once I got home and it's still not working. I'll check to see if the backlight is out as well since I didn't notice it earlier. I'll maybe try disconnecting the battery terminal to see if it can be reset. If not, I'm due for an oil change so maybe I'll have them take a gander then.

I got the regular key with my truck. No push button start. Maybe I can stash the valet key somewhere instead.
