Keyless entry bed cap
Hello, I've researched this but was unable to find an answer. I'm in the market for a bed topper. I found an A.R.E z series with the keyless entry. My question is if I bought this cap, would I be able to program the lock to my key fob? Was hoping someone would have info on this.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Yea the price for it is crazy expensive on a new topper. There is a A.R.E z series used that I could pick up for a reasonable price. I was just wondering if I bought a used one would I be able to program the lock to my key fob.
I actually thought I'd just buy a new one after searching for so long but the dealer said it would be 14-16 weeks for a ordered cap to come in.

I have a Z series. I got it before the newest one came out. Not my first Z either. If the used topper has a programable lock, I wouldn't see a problem as long as the lock is functional. Ask the dealer how it is programmed, or just play the google game with finding out.
I had to replace the handle and key locking mechanism on one topper. It was over $100.

Just for future reference if anyone was wondering the answer down the road.
The A.R.E dealer said this. There is no reprogramming done, the E-lock has a wiring harness that attaches to the vehicles door actuator switch.
