Simple and call it a day.

Unless its something new with '19 XLT key fobs, the 'switch blade' key in my '16 XLT's fobs aren't removable at least easily far as I can tell.
I was missing something.

Found this out today I had both set of key fobs and my phone in the truck and used the key pad on the door and locked the doors which it did and didn't have the code to get in using the key pad. Good thing i had the extra spare key. I would of thought the truck would know there was too sets in the truck and would be able to lock.

Thanks, everyone - very helpful info here!

Why not just lock the truck then leave the key fob with the shop or their drop off box?
That is indeed what I'm doing, but since the shop closes about 45min before I can pick it up, I prefer to have it locked while it's unattended. It seems the keypad is the solution (I just tested the lock/unlock with the key inside and it indeed works).

All of this is very well laid out in the book that comes with your truck in the glove box. RTFM.
For what it's worth, I do and have "RTFM", although I don't make a habit of carrying it with me to the office. Forgive me for checking here instead of prioritizing locking the keys inside the truck in my initial read-through. Sheesh!

I'll bet it's pretty damn rare that a person locks their truck with both of their keys and their phone inside of it while also not knowing their door code. Nothing is foolproof.

One of the first things I did was program a door code that I know I can't forget (been putting it on our Fords for literally 20 years)
