K02 dt
Getting new tires on my 16 Screw 157 and the K02 Dt was brought up at the tire dealer. Anyone have any experience on these? They say it's a harder compound geared more toward heavier trucks and comes with a 50,000 mile warranty, but loses the snow and mountain rating. I don't spend a ton of time off road, but new England winters can suck. I don't want to end up with another ho hum tire like the stock goodyears in the snow.

Don't know anything about the DT's, I've got KO2's. But I can tell you about the GY UltraTerrains, they're exclusive to Discount Tire, 3PSF rated, and are great in the snow, almost as good as DuraTracs. Don't judge GY by what came on the truck.
I had UltraTerrains last winter on the 150, and have DuraTracs on my Ranger, both are excellent tires for snow.

As mentioned, the DT version of the KO2 is short for "Different Tread" and this version does NOT carry the 3PMSF rating. It could be argued that this is a heavier duty version in the KO2 line primarily designed for HD truck applications that are frequently under load or hauling.
Here are some additional details on the DT version...
The DT only applies to select heavy-duty LR-E fitments as outlined below. The change is in the rubber compounding to improve longevity and the DT version is back with a 50K mileage warranty.
As noted earlier, the DT version does NOT carry the 3PMSF designation, however, the M+S rating is maintained and the original version will remain in production

Thank you for posting your experiences with the DT.

Or just bite the bullet and get ridge grapplers, which (by most opinions) are superior to K02's

Thanks for all the reply's. Given my location and occasional jaunts off road, i decided not to go with the DT. The tire dealer ordered me the regular K02 and put them on yesterday. Went with 275/70/18 still on stock suspension.
As for the recommendation for the ridge grappler, it's a bit more serious of a tire than the K02 and they are $30/ea more expensive. If i spent more time off road, i may have gone that direction, but i've had the K0's before, and really liked them.
